Packaging Supplies corrugatedinsert Company''s boxes are "200 lb burst corrugatedinsert test" certified. (We do carry some "275lb burst test" certified boxes too.) This means that the corrugated walls of the box would require 200 pounds per square inch of force to break through the wall of the box. The burst test has been a standard certification for years. More recently a new certification test has started to be used called the Edge Crush Test (ECT). Generally, 200lb test boxes are 32 ECT. ECT is the edgewise-compressive strength, parallel to the flutes of a short column of corrugated fibreboard. Test results are reported as the pounds per inch required causing compression failure. ECT relates directly to box compression strength which is important in today''s world of box stacking. For certain items, mailing supplies provide a complete protective package that is ready to ship. WATER ACTIVATED TAPE Water activated tape provides a bond to corrugated cartons that is second to none. Water activated tape is recyclable and provides a strong, secure seal that cannot be broken without detection Steel is the strongest corrugatedinsert of all strapping materials. It corrugatedinsert and corrugatedinsert is recommended where high strength is necessary, low elongation is important and where the product corrugatedinsert is extremely sharp or hot. Steel is sealed using mechanical seals and notch (sealless) joints. It is most commonly used in steel service centers, rail car applications and heavy construction applications.

Strapping corrugatedinsert Terms Break (or tensile) Strength: The amout of force, expressed in pounds, required to break the strap. Elongation: This is the corrugatedinsert amount of stretch in the strap as force or tension is applied. Elongation is generally expressed in the working range which is 40-60% of the break strength.Elongation Recovery: This is the strap''s ability to recover to its original state after tensioning.Shock Resistance: This is the strap''s ability to stretch and return to its original state without breaking when subjected to sudden impact. Split Resistance: The corrugatedinsert strap''s ability to withstand lateral tears. Cushioning Protect contents from vibration, impact or shock. Fragile and/or high value products with extended shipping or storage cycle times (weeks) require different cushioning products than items that are less fragile, medium weight and have shorter shipping and storage cycles. Void Fill space easily in and around the packaged contents while providing some basic cushioning. Surface Protection Conforms to a desired shape and prevents marring or scratching.
